November 15th 2016 (Brussels, Belgium)

Ninety eight polyurea industry representatives from across Europe gathered at the PDA Europe Annual Conference and Exhibition from 8 to 9 November in Nice, France. PDA Europe, the Polyurea Development Association in Europe, has organized the conference for the past ten years.

New this year, a spray gun workshop complemented the traditional introduction to polyurea course the day before the conference. The workshop allowed participants to review application tools without any sales pressure. “Participants appreciated the opportunity not only to determine the differences between guns but also the similarities which lead to a greater understanding in functionality of various parts and components“, said Alain Van Oorsouw, PDA Europe trainer and chairman of the Technical Committee.

The conference programme included presentations on topics as varied as polyurea application on roof and floors, chemical innovations, safety, regulatory updates, technology and surface preparation. Presentations were made available in French in a parallel session for the French speaking participants.

Each year, we strive to bring new meaningful content and training sessions for participants to learn about this wonderful technology and also to understand the necessity to handle it in a safe way. In addition this year, it was important to focus on regulatory issues which may affect our industry in a near future. PDA Europe will continue following up on these issues and will provide regular updates to its members.“, says Hugo Herault (Krypton Chemical), PDA Europe Immediate Past President.

The Annual General Meeting of members also took place during the conference. At this meeting, part of the board has been renewed and a change of presidency occurred. The new president of the association is Dirk Uebelhoer from Sika. “I am proud to be the new president of PDA Europe. During my mandate, I would like to focus on growing the association’s membership and on the development of new objectives for our committees in an effort to increase our services to our members.“, said Dirk.

The new board composition and the conference presentations are available on the PDA Europe website.
