Bitrez Ltd, the UK’s leading manufacturer of specialist polymers and chemicals, is showcasing its innovative solutions for the paints, coatings and adhesives industry at the American Coatings Show (ACS) 2020.
This will be the first time the British-based company, which holds the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in Innovation – the UK’s most prestigious accolade for business success – has exhibited at the ACS.
Bitrez offers an extensive portfolio of specialist polymer types for surface coating applications, all of which comply with REACH regulations in accordance with ECHA directives.
Its broad product range includes epoxy, epoxy curing agent and phenolic resins in addition to vinyl ester, amino resins and other synthetic resins, providing excellent protection from corrosion and chemical attack whilst enhancing aesthetic appearance.
Dr Shahid Qureshi, Bitrez’s Technical Specialist for North America, said: “At Bitrez we use creative chemistry to push chemical boundaries providing the paints, coatings and adhesives industry with innovate solutions that fill the gap created by products that have been withdrawn from the market due to regulatory reform. This is our first time exhibiting at the American Coatings Show and we’re hoping our ground-breaking products and contract manufacturing service will generate a real buzz!”
Bitrez’s products showcased at this year’s show, include:
CURAMINE – an extensive range of epoxy curing agents offering exceptional formulation latitude to enable customised development of systems that will satisfy all requirements, including the world’s first REACH compliant KETAMINE epoxy curing agent with extended pot-life and improved surface appearance used to coat concrete and steel, marine, flooring and adhesives due to its resistance to water, alkali and acids.
CURACAT – a range of high-performance catalysts for the formulation of single and multi-component systems. For both homo-polymerisation of epoxy resins and acceleration of curing agent grades or a combination of both, this group of catalysts and accelerators can also be used for other generic resin types.
CURADRIDE – a range of high-performance epoxy curing agents consist of a variety of speciality and modified anhydrides that have achieved widespread commercial importance due to a combination of their cure characteristics with relatively low viscosity and high loading, long pot-life with low exotherm.
CURAZINE – a small range of amino resins offered for use in coating systems. All of the amino resins are U/F resins and are used in a range of different purposes.
Established in 1982, Bitrez offers a range of services from R&D to contract manufacturing as well as technical support. Its team of highly qualified and experienced chemists can produce materials from laboratory scale through a transient pilot stage to enable scale up and allow for small scale qualification work before moving to commercial manufacture.
Bitrez has worked with world-class customers in the paint, coatings and adhesives industry in over 25 countries, providing innovative customised solutions that offer enhanced performance.
